PHJ PUBLISHING / EDITORIAL POLICY

The adjective requires
supporting evidence.

Our standard for reporting, research, opinion and commercial disclosure.

01

Identify the form.

Readers should know whether they are reading reporting, analysis, opinion, a source note, a fieldnote or sponsored material. A format label is an editorial commitment.

02

Make claims traceable.

Link to the original source where possible. Record the document, date and context supporting a material claim. Distinguish what a source says from what the journal infers.

03

Define the measure.

Research should disclose the sample, period, geography, definitions and limitations. Asking rates, achieved rates, destination statistics and individual portfolio results should remain distinguishable.

04

Declare the interest.

Disclose ownership, commercial relationships and material support relevant to a piece. Label sponsored work. The publisher’s connection to LIVE LARGE™ should be visible whenever relevant.

05

Report the fieldnote.

Observations should come from documented work, visits or interviews. Distinguish an operational framework from an observed outcome. Respect guest and owner privacy.

06

Correct the record.

Material factual corrections should explain what changed and when. Update a piece when the underlying evidence changes; preserve its original publication context.

07

Respect the original.

Credit and link to curated work. Our sourced features use original PHJ prose and claim-level references; they do not imply a visit or interview unless the piece documents one. Tools may assist research and drafting; the named author and publisher remain responsible for the result.

Reprints require rights.

Attribution alone does not authorise a reprint. Before reproducing a piece, record explicit permission, an applicable reuse licence or verified public-domain status for the exact text. Check photographs, graphics and other third-party material separately. A syndicated or reprinted piece must identify the original author, publisher, source date and permission or licence, with any changes disclosed. Keep it clearly distinct from original PHJ essays and sourced summaries.

For open-licensed material, retain the required credit, licence link and change notice, and check the actual licence conditions. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 terms ↗

These standards guide the journal’s reporting and editorial selection. Each piece identifies its form, and curated source notes link to the original publisher.
